In 1978 she was employed in a psychiatric setting where she was trained and supervised in group therapy and psychotherapy in a variety of modalities including Cognitive; Hypnotherapy; Transactional Analysis; Body-Centred psychotherapies; dream analysis; attachment theory and child development and became very familiar with psychiatric diagnosis and medication. She had the opportunity to work with patients with a broad spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses and learned a wide range of psychodynamic therapeutic techniques in a closely supervised training setting. She also took other training programs including Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Hakomi therapy and Advanced Integral Healing. She continues to be an avid learner.
